Our House in the Middle of the Street

Well, school's done and now I'm looking for a job. I stayed up all night yesterday filling out online applications. You'd be surprised how many companies use this system now.

Anyroad, no sooner than I had completed the Dillard's online app then I get a call about four hours later. They don't play around over there. So I go in for the interview at 11:30, wait about 15 minutes and am shown to someone's office, where the girl tells me that they don't hire for summer-only. Which..is really ok with me, because I also sent resume's to several office jobs, and am really hoping to get one of those. I only put in for a lot of retail places just to fall back on. BUT, she said the app was good for 30 days and that I could figure out my school schedule some more and come back. So we'll see what happens with that.

In unrelated news, I saw "Kingdom of Heaven" Friday night, another period-piece starring the master-of-period-pieces himself, everyone's favorite Hollywood rapscallion Orlando Bloom. It was no masterpiece, but sit through-able at least. I was just happy it was better than that awful "Troy," although it had some of the same actors. All it was missing was Brad Pitt shaking his hair around like a Pantene commercial and extolling the benefits of the tanning industry. I can't say I missed it.

Overall it was a Ridley Scott film, sure enough. Which is to say, see it if you're into the "grittier" side of Hollywood blockbusters. If there is such a thing. Although I will say the director must've taken great care to ensure that *every* scene was punctuated by blood clots flying into the air.

I can't wait for Star Wars. I only hope it doesn't suck.
